Brian Foley dawt net is the personal website of Brian Foley (and Family).

Personal
I am happily married to my wife, Amanda and have two dogs, a female border-collie named Willow, and a male golden retriever named Fozzie. They keep us quite busy! When I’m not working or playing with the dogs, I like to stay in shape (or try my best). I built a pretty nice gym in the bonus room of our house. I also love to learn new things and spend a lot of time listening to podcasts and audio books. I’m also very involved in my community, and currently I’m the president of our Homeowners Association.

Professional
In my work life, I’m an IT professional. My official title is Director of IT, but I’m mainly referred to as “The computer guy”. I manage all aspects of Information Systems for a family owned trucking/warehouse/logistics business in Apopka, Florida. The company runs a mixture of Unix and Windows technologies. Originally everything was run on an SCO Unix host, however it’s unreliability prompted us to migrate to an IBM RS/6000 running AIX. Windows is used for Active Directory, SQL and Exchange server for Email. In addition to administering these systems, I manage to find time to do some of the development of the transportation management system (written entirely in C), as well as maintain the company websites.

Hardware and Software
Some of the geekier people might be interested in the rigs I use on a day to day basis. I mainly use my trusty Apple 15″ MacBook Pro. I’ve upgraded the RAM by installing 4 GB of Corsair Low Latency MacMemory. At home I use a 24″ iMac. Mobileme keeps the two machines in sync. I also use VMWare Fusion for those few “special” Windows apps. I use the Mac for all of my media (iTunes/iPhoto), and Adobe CS3 Suite along with RapidWeaver for editing web content.
